Baby-Sitters Club
The Baby-Sitters Club is a group of eighth-grade friends who form their own small business to facilitate their baby-sitting jobs. Each book has one of the girls as a main character who has to deal with a baby-sitting client child or family in less than ideal circumstances and struggle with friends or school at the same time. The girls are all completely different and have to work things out. The books are quite good, but some a few of the books have some rather liberal themes that parents may want to discuss with their children.
